As one of the oldest businesses in Saxony (founded 1747) still existing today,
Abraham Dürninger & Co. in Herrnhut has had an eventful history.

As the business operation of the worldwide-operating "Evangelical Congregation
of Brothers", the business has always operated nationally .

The then ruler of the district, Count Zinzendorf, found in the person of the
Abraham Dürninger a businessman who was to play an outstanding role in the
commerce of the eighteenth century. Within a few years Dürninger turned the
business into one of the largest trading companies in Europe. The capable
businessman practised economical and social principles well ahead of his time.

The work of the founder has been continued for 250 years. The company has
experienced ups and downs over the years.
